Ethel passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2020 at the age of 87. Daughter of the late Robert and Loretta Hawken. Beloved wife of 65 years to Earl Istead. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Louise, Rachel (Art), Carole (Ray) and Gail (Dennis). Predeceased by her brother Mark. Much loved by her children Joanne (Jesper), Linda (Vernon), Danny (Sheila), Karen (Brian) and Patrick (Cathy). Proud grandmother to Erik, Jonelle, Graeme, Coady, Jason, Lyndsay, Jordan, Christopher, Brandon, Kaitlin, Nicole and Michelle. She will be fondly remembered by her eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thanks to the Windsong unit at the Waterford Retirement Home. Family and friends are invited to visit Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave) on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 1pm until time of a Celebration of Life at 2pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
